Each year thousands of
greyhounds are released from the racing tracks and need to find loving
homes. Many dogs experts will tell you that the gentle, calm and
loving personality of a greyhound makes it the perfect companion in the
homes of many families. Despite their blazing speed on the track,
greyhounds are actually very calm dogs and their reputation as 45 mph
couch potatoes is well deserved. They are very gentle dogs and many
can live in families with children, other dogs and even cats! They
are low maintenance dogs needing only a 30 minute walk each day, good
food, a warm cozy place to sleep and plenty of love from their humans who
they tend to idolize.
